What is the difference between a Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist?
The main difference between a postpartum doula and a newborn care specialist is their scope of practice. Postpartum doulas are trained to provide emotional and physical support to the mother and entire family during the postpartum period. They can assist with breastfeeding, offer guidance on infant care and help with household tasks. Newborn Care Specialist, on the other hand, are typically focused solely on the newborn and their care. They are often hired by families to provide overnight care for the baby, including feeding, diapering, sleep training, and other newborn-related tasks. While there may be some overlap in these services they offer, these roles and areas of expertise are generally distinct.
Do you take insurance?
No, I do not take insurance. This is something I am working towards to help families who have Medi-Cal or insurance through their companies. However, I can provide an invoice so you can receive reimbursement through your insurance.

What does a typical postpartum doula schedule look like?
The schedule of a postpartum doula can vary depending on the needs of the family. Typically, a postpartum doula will work for several hours a day, several days a week, or even live with the family for a specific period of time. The specific schedule will be determined by the family and the doula and can be adjusted as needed. Some families may require more support in the early weeks after birth, while others may need help as the transition back to work or as the baby goes through developmental milestones. The postpartum doula will work with the family to create a schedule that meets their specific needs.
